Nightscape Double Feature No. 1 Released Today

David EdwardsComment

The long-in-coming Nightscape Double Feature No. 1 is available today via Amazon, with other retailers like Barnes & Noble picking it up over the next few days. You can check out an excerpt from the first of the book's two novels, The Thousand-Eyed Fear by Derrick Ferguson and yours truly, either here (in the 'Store' section) or alternately, at the blog MyLifeMyBooksMyEscape. (The Nightscape feature spotlight at MyLifeMyBooksMyEscape follows an interview with one of my favorite horror/weird fiction writers, Simon Bestwick.)

This book marks the first entry in what's planned to be an ongoing series of short double-novels set in the Nightscape universe. While designed to be a jumping-on point for new readers, it also ties into last year's Nightscape: Cynopolis and hints at some of the events that will be fully revealed in the next Double Feature.

The sequel is already well under way. It will consist of a surreal action-horror novel set on the sunken Egyptian island of Heracleion, along with a South Pacific adventure involving zombie pirates and one of Captain Nemo's apprentices. I've partnered with Josh Reynolds of Warhammer 40K fame for the first story, so it's bound to be a doozy. Together, these stories will offer important background for the next proper Nightscape novel, Early Darkness.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the unique brand of literary pulp represented by Nightscape Double Feature No. 1.
